sagne a pezze

The “sagne a pèzze” or “tacconelle,” a pasta format widespread throughout the province of Chieti, is characterized by its typical diamond or square shape.

The Meat & Fish

In Vasto, where Abruzzo’s culinary tradition is intertwined with the beauty of the landscape, main courses tell stories of land and sea, offering an authentic experience that celebrates the gastronomic richness of this land: from savory meats to seafood, each dish is a tribute to the culture and roots of this extraordinary region.

Arrosticini

Be wary of imitations, Abruzzo arrosticini are made only of sheep meat and are barbecued. It is one of the best known and most popular street foods in the region and throughout southern Italy.

Pallotte Cacio e Ova

When there was no meat to make the protein load, ingredients such as eggs and cheese were assembled to create main courses like this one. Simply delicious meatballs.

Fish Brodetto

Every Italian region washed by the sea has its own fish brodetto. The one from Abruzzo is made with poor fish, but also with mussels, clams and shellfish. The secret? Use what the sea offers.

At Grotta del Saraceno, the authentic flavors of the sea meet the elegance of tradition to give you a unique dining experience between taste and breathtaking views.
